Manuel DaSilva, a longtime Yonkers resident, died on Wednesday June 14, 2017 at Sans Souci Nursing Home. He was 75 years old. He was born on August 27, 1941 to Albino and Maria Emilia DeJesus DaSilva in Portugal where he was raised and educated. Mr. DaSilva was a mechanic at the Graphic Metalizing Co. in Yonkers for 27 years until his retirement. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Yonkers and was very active in the church for many years. He was also a member of the Portuguese American Community Center....

Manuel DaSilva, a longtime Yonkers resident, died on Wednesday June 14, 2017 at Sans Souci Nursing Home. He was 75 years old. He was born on August 27, 1941 to Albino and Maria Emilia DeJesus DaSilva in Portugal where he was raised and educated. Mr. DaSilva was a mechanic at the Graphic Metalizing Co. in Yonkers for 27 years until his retirement. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Yonkers and was very active in the church for many years. He was also a member of the Portuguese American Community Center. On July 12, 1964, he married his loving wife Rosalina Oliveira in Portugal. Mrs. DaSilva survives and lives in Yonkers. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Americo DaSilva of Lagrangeville and Jose DaSilva of Yonkers and three daughters, Maria Manuela Salvador of Lagrangeville, Fatima Maria Pereira of Yonkers and Maria Gloria Canicatti of Connecticut. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and one great grandson. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Friday 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Yonkers on Saturday June 17th at 9am. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
