Frank (Francesco) Colombino, 85, of Yonkers, New York, and Spring Hill, Florida, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, May 3, 2017. Born on September 25, 1931, to Andrea Colombino and Maria Sparano in San Marzano sul Sarno, Italy, Frank lived in Italy until 1958 when he moved to New York to grow a dress manufacturing company with his wife.

Frank loved planting and tending to his vegetable garden every year; it was his true passion. Frank participated in many Italian social clubs and frequently marched in the Yonkers Columbus Day Parade...

Frank (Francesco) Colombino, 85, of Yonkers, New York, and Spring Hill, Florida, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, May 3, 2017. Born on September 25, 1931, to Andrea Colombino and Maria Sparano in San Marzano sul Sarno, Italy, Frank lived in Italy until 1958 when he moved to New York to grow a dress manufacturing company with his wife.

Frank loved planting and tending to his vegetable garden every year; it was his true passion. Frank participated in many Italian social clubs and frequently marched in the Yonkers Columbus Day Parade in authentic Italian folk costume. Frank also enjoyed the Christmas season, especially decorating the manger (presepio) in true Neapolitan style.

Frank is predeceased by his wife Maria (née Crescenzo) whom he married on March 12, 1955, in Italy.

Frank leaves behind his two sons, Andrew and Venanzio, their wives, four grandsons, along with three brothers, a sister, nieces, nephews, a vast extended family, and friends. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Thursday 2-4 & 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Ann's Church on Friday May 12th at 10am. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery.
